NRFI Picks Today: Wheeler 12-0 NRFI

It’s Monday, June 9, and I’ve got two NRFI bets lined up. First, we ride Zack Wheeler’s perfect first-inning record in Philly. Then we hit the Blue Jays–Cardinals game, where trends and matchups point to another early shutout.

NRFI Pick Today: Cubs vs Phillies (-120 at Sportsbook)

Cubs vs Phillies Odds – 6:45 p.m. ET

Neither club is especially decisive in our NRFI betting report, but this is a great opportunity for a NRFI bet at -120. Wheeler is 12-0 NRFI, one of the few aces left with an undefeated first-inning record, plus Boyd is a sneaky starter for the Cubs. I have no worries about Wheeler, as Chicago still owns just a .246 BA in the first inning this year.

As for Boyd, the Phils haven’t seen him much. Only three hitters have at-bats off Boyd, and he’s held them to a .651 OPS. That’s enough for me, especially with Wheeler on the hill.

NRFI Pick Today: Blue Jays vs Cardinals (-115 at Sportsbook)

Blue Jays vs Cardinals Odds – 7:45 p.m. ET

As an offense, the Blue Jays are 50-15 NRFI, marking one of the most reliable NRFI sides in baseball. The Blue Jays bats have definitely improved lately, but the club still struggles to rally in the first inning. That puts Pallante (10-2 NRFI) in a good spot to bounce back after his second YRFI of the season. Berrios gets the ball for the Blue Jays, rocking a two-game NRFI streak. His 9-4 NRFI record suggests some cause for concern, but active Cards hitters own a career .561 OPS off him. St. Louis also ranks 25th in MLB with a .625 team OPS in the first inning over the last two weeks.
